This effort aims to position Dongyangguang as a front-runner in the supercapacitor sector.

In a forward-looking move, both parties will collaboratively develop an innovation hub for the AI industry, including an AI materials R&D center. This initiative will address cutting-edge research in AI algorithm optimization and model training acceleration, emphasizing stronger collaborations between academia and industry to convert technological advancements into usable products. The Shaoguan government is poised to provide essential resources and policy backing as Dongyangguang leads the charge in establishing and operating the AI+ new materials research center.

Through this partnership, Dongyangguang aims to create a comprehensive industrial chain in the sectors of liquid cooling technology and supercapacitors, significantly bolstering its market competitiveness and generating new avenues for profit growth. Additionally, the strategic location of Shaoguan's data center cluster—backed by favorable policies—will facilitate deep collaboration with various industry stakeholders, enhancing the effect of industrial clustering and solidifying Dongyangguang's leading position in the field.

As the global race in AI enters a new phase marked by the deep integration of computational power and practical applications, AI technology has emerged as the “key to the future.” The debut of Deepseek at the beginning of 2025 reignited enthusiasm among investors within the A-share technology sector, reflecting a transformative wave of “AI+” strategies. Experts contend that this current market rally is rooted in the expansive applications of large models across various industries, emphasizing the critical intersection of AI technology and the real economy.

Dongyangguang has cultivated a diverse business portfolio over the past 20 years, establishing clusters centered on electronic components, high-end aluminum foil, new chemical materials, new energy materials, and liquid cooling technology. Its journey began with the production of heat dissipation materials and components, gradually expanding into essential upstream components like aluminum cold plates and flammable cooling liquids. This strategic integration aims to maintain control over the product lifecycle, transforming Dongyangguang into a holistic player in the liquid cooling sector.

The company has pioneered a liquid cooling case for chips with a power consumption of 1200W, addressing the cooling needs for high-power applications. Furthermore, Dongyangguang has developed a universal testing method for compatibility with its new fluorinated cooling liquids, alongside solutions for chips, optical modules, servers, and energy storage systems. This innovation enables them to lead in the specialized technology required for effective cooling solutions.

In addition to liquid cooling, Dongyangguang’s advancements in supercapacitor technology, including the exclusive patented layered foil capacitors, align seamlessly with the requirements of AI computing servers, thereby ensuring stable and effective operations while laying a solid foundation for expansion in the digital economy.

A notable aspect of this narrative is Dongyangguang’s internal drive to integrate AI technology across all operational facets. Through a comprehensive approach that encourages full participation, the company is embedding AI deeply within its various business scenarios, resulting in enhanced efficiency and innovation.

Building a Deep Partnership within the National Strategy

Shaoguan and Dongyangguang's partnership is set to deepen their collaboration in several key domains, including the AI industry, comprehensive solutions for liquid cooling in data centers, and advancements in supercapacitors. This alliance emerges as a pivotal initiative under the backdrop of China’s “East Data, West Computing” strategy, aiming to propel the green and low-carbon evolution of Shaoguan's data center cluster and establish it as a digital economy powerhouse.

The chairman of Dongyangguang, Zhang Hongwei, emphasized the significance of this strategic collaboration as a crucial step toward firmly integrating their operations within the “East Data, West Computing” strategy. It is expected to enhance Dongyangguang's technological prowess as it moves into a new stage of scaling and industrialization. The partnership aims to create collaborative synergies within the industry that will yield broader economic benefits.

Launched in late 2020, the “East Data, West Computing” initiative targets discrepancies between resource availability in eastern and western regions and the scattered nature of existing data centers. It aims to establish major nodes and clusters across the nation to tackle these challenges. With its advantageous position near the Greater Bay Area, geological safety, optimal operational conditions, and a plethora of skilled professionals, Shaoguan has emerged as a unique data center cluster within the region and holds significant potential for future development.

Shaoguan's cluster has earmarked 6,277 acres for initial construction, designed to accommodate the spatial requirements for manufacturing centers and disaster recovery strategies that major internet companies require. As of now, four major telecommunications operators and several other projects have already established a presence, indicating robust growth prospects. The vision outlines the completion of a 500,000 rack data center cluster by 2025, backed by investments surpassing 50 billion yuan. This will not only serve the Greater Bay Area’s demands but will also play a pivotal role in optimizing national computational resource distribution.

As of the first half of last year, Shaoguan's data computation cluster has attracted 22 power center projects involving major telecom operators and widely recognized internet corporations, totaling an investment of 62.1 billion yuan.

The China Telecom Integrated Data Center designed for the Greater Bay Area is notable as the first extensive liquid-cooling intelligent computing center in the region and ranks among the eight key nodes within the national integrated computing network. The initial phase of this project commands an investment of over 3.2 billion yuan, creating a state-of-the-art data center using liquid cooling, AI, and digital twin technology to provide approximately 15,000 petaflops of computational capacity.

Additionally, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area power center project, backed by Tencent, has officially settled in Shaoguan, with an established power service platform now online. All these accomplishments illustrate Dongyangguang's proactive stance in harnessing changing tides for sustained growth and progress.

Overall, Dongyangguang’s position as a pioneer during waves of industrial transformation is attributed to its innovative climate, receptive development attitude, and skillful adaptability towards emerging market trends.
